Anamaria Marinca is a Romanian actress. She debuted on the big screen with Sex Traffic by Channel 4 and won it was the British Academy Television Award was presented to her for Best Actress. She speaks French, German, English as well as Romanian fluently. Her mother played the violin and her father is a professor of theater at one of Romania's top theater schools. The award was presented to her as the Best Female Actor of the Year 2000 Award at The Young Actor Gala Mangalia. The award was given to her as a European Shooting Star by the European Film Promotion Board in the year 2008. In addition to her outstanding performance in her first film she will also remember her role of her role in the Romanian movie "4 months 3 weeks 2 days" which earned her many prizes, including the European Film Award of Best Actress from the London Film Critics. Her role in Cristian Mungiu's Romanian art film 4 months 3 weeks and 2 zile (4 months, 3 weeks and two days), won both the Palme d'Or Award at the Cannes Film Festival 2007 and two additional awards: the Cinema Prize for the French National Education System as well as the FIPRESCI Prize. In addition, she appeared as a character in the Francis Ford Coppola film Youth Without Youth. In 2008 she played Yasim anwar in BBC series The Last Enemy. Marinca is a regular on the Romanian drama Boogie along with Oliver Hirschbiegel's Five Minutes of Heaven. The actress later played a significant part in the film Fury where she played a German woman who was named Irma aunt of Emma.
